This year for my end of the year reminiscence, I wanted to show you a few photos from some trips and hikes I took this year. It was all about nature this year and seeing the beauty of the places we live. To me, this is where I find myself most at peace and where my life is put into perspective. I was really hit by this when I traveled to Rocky Mountain National Park for the first time with one of my best friends from childhood. I was awestruck and my life instantly changed. I knew after leaving that I had to get back to those mountains. The pictures and video I took from that trip really don’t do it justice. You have to go there and see it for yourself.
My next big trip was heading across the country to Seattle, Washington and seeing the true Pacific Northwest. What an incredible city! I really enjoyed the fact that there was a progressive city, mountains, ocean, woods, farms, and cool people all in one place. The food was amazing of course and I was able to visit some of my friends from school!
Once I came back, I really caught the hiking bug and tried to go as much as I could before winter (which wasn’t much) but now I hope this coming year I’ll be able to do more.
My next big trip will be something I’ve been dreaming about since I was maybe 15 years old. I am planning a cross country road trip (and then back) starting in August. My mom thinks I’m crazy and I told her that if I can’t do this trip, my life will lose meaning. And I honestly think that’s true. I crave exploration and finally I feel like I can go and do this. It’s something I think about every single day.
There is so much to look forward to in 2014 and I really want to make things happen. I think it’s going to be the best year yet! I have written down a long list of goals that I plan on accomplishing and I’m sure there will be more added.
I hope you all enjoy your New Years Eve and are able to complete and conquer whatever goals you set for yourself this year. It can be done!
HAPPY NEW YEAR
