Hi Everyone! I’ve had a lot going on these past few weeks and there’s still more to come. The future is looking very good. I am constantly amazed by what this career path has brought to me and all the great people I have met along the way.
So first off, I got a great opportunity to do some photographs for a new quarterly magazine called Mainely Spirits. I was given the task to come up with a cover for the spring quarterly. It’s really a test to see how I interpreted the assignment and what ideas I came up with. It’s still in the works but I’m excited about the shots I got. My mom and I took a trip up the coast to shoot and although dealing with the wind and the weather was tough at some points, we had a blast working on it and loved being in Maine, it was gorgeous up there. I want to post photos from it but I’m not sure I can just yet, but stay tuned and you may see it in the future! (Hopefully in print too!).
A few weeks ago I had my first senior portrait session! I was pretty nervous about it but I think it went well for my first one. We went to the field I talked about in my last post. It was pretty cloudy that day, I would have liked it to have been a little sunnier but hey, you work with what you get! Megan’s mom asked me to re do her senior portraits because they weren’t happy with the ones they had done through the high school. Megan was a good sport and her mom was a great assistant. Here’s a few photos from the day!
Last week I contacted photographer Joe Dimattia and asked him about his job and what he does. He told me I could come on some shoots with him if I wanted to and ended up going with him to shoot the Galkin group, a band that plays folk and bluegrass music while traveling all over the US and the world. They were such a fun group, I loved getting to know them for the short amount of time we were together. They are all extremely talented and I was lucky enough to see their concert that night. I hope our paths cross again one day. I also can’t wait to work with Joe again, he’s a really fun guy and super nice! Check out his work here http://www.dimattiaphotography.net/
About a week ago, a girl who I went to high school with, Kristina, contacted me about doing a shoot. She is a senior in high school this year and is looking to go to school for nursing but loves to do modeling on the side. We ended up shooting yesterday and it was a lot of fun! She is a great model and super easy to work with. I had a great time and I am very excited with the photos I got. Here are some of my favorites from the day and I encourage you to check out more on my flickr
She was so much fun to work with and we are already planning another shoot. Keep on the look out for more blog posts soon! :)
